Blizzard of '06

Well, we had a bit of snow this past weekend in the Northeast. Sharon and I were in Mount Holly, New Jersey for the weekend visiting our friend Denise from Nyack College.
We got to experience a good foot of snow. Click on the photos for a close-up.
We made a Snow Sphinx and tried to throw some snowballs but the snow was like powder. It would hardly stick together. Perfect for skiiing or sledding.

New York though had over two feet. This morning we took our cart to the neighborhood store to buy groceries and do laundry. It was like being a sled dog in the Arctic.

Pulling through the mud, ice, slush, and several feet high piles of snow in our Brooklyn neighborhood, we successfully made it there and back with clean clothes and food for tonight.
